Summer Student - Forensics

FORENSICS - SUMMER STUDENT
40 Hours Per Week
Monday-Friday, Dayshift 
For approximately 15 weeks starting May 20th 2024
$17.00 per hour

The Forensics student will be responsible for the following duties:
•    Attend calls for service and assist with equipment set up/take down.
•    Assist with logging property.
•    Submit property reports and package items appropriately.
•    Assist with administrative duties, including filing, scanning and data entry.
•    Learning techniques in developing fingerprints and DNA collection.

Qualifications:
•    Current enrolment in a post-secondary degree or certificate program in Forensic Sciences or related field. 
•    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
•    Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Skills:
•    Experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
•    Self-starter with the ability to work independently. 
•    Ability to maintain accuracy with a large volume of work.
•    Demonstrated effective written and oral communication.
•    Well-developed interpersonal skills.
•    Proven organizational, time management and motivational skills.
•    Ability to organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines.
•    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
•    Demonstrated analytical observation, thinking and problem-solving skills.
•    Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and placing heavy items (ie. Bankers Boxes containing file folders).
